About the role As a QA/SDET Engineer , you’ll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional QA — you’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift-left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle. By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact. What you will do Become the first QA/SDET in the team and define how we approach testing; Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high-quality standards across our product; Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing; Collaborate closely with engineers to co-own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance); Promote a “shift-left” QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage; Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability. MUST HAVES 4+ years of experience as a Python engineer building production systems; Proven track record in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance/load testing); Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture; Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes; Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck; Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor; Full overlap with Central European Time or at least 6+ hours; Upper-Intermediate English level. NICE TO HAVES Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI); Frontend testing or front-end framework experience (Vue.js, React); Early-stage startup experience; Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems; Leadership experience; Scrappy mindset: focus on delivering business value over unnecessary perfection.
