As we expand across Latin America, we are seeking a dedicated and strategic Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead growth initiatives across Colombia and the wider region.

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing Recruitment Partners (RPs) to drive student enrollments for the Global Student Program (GSP). This role requires strong interpersonal, analytical, and sales skills, with a focus on building long-term partner relationships and maximizing market presence in Colombia.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Recruitment Partner Identification and Onboarding

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit new Recruitment Partners (RPs), including education agents and channel partners.
  • Conduct due diligence, reference checks, and maintain documentation for partner approval.
  • Ensure high-quality standards for all new partnerships.

2. Partner Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing RPs to ensure consistent performance.
  • Provide training, share marketing materials, and monitor enrollment pipelines.
  • Support partners in understanding and promoting upGrad’s value proposition.

3. Student Counselling and Application Support

  • Assist RPs in student counselling to ensure quality leads and application submissions.
  • Review applications for completeness and compliance with academic standards.
  • Enhance the student journey by improving the application experience.

4. Market Intelligence and Product Positioning

  • Gather and analyze market insights, trends, and competitor activity in Colombia.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams to refine offerings and marketing strategies.
  • Strategically position upGrad GSP programs to strengthen RP engagement and student interest.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or partner management (preferably in the education or EdTech sector).
  • Proven track record of driving revenue and managing channel partnerships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel across Colombia for partner engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
