Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data migration pipelines that enable seamless transitions from legacy systems into our SaaS platform. You will work closely with both customers and internal teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and long-term scalability across our product ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT pipelines to migrate customer data from various legacy systems into the SDL SaaS platform
- Transform datasets across multiple formats (e.g., SQL databases, APIs, flat files like CSV) ensuring data integrity and consistency
- Build reusable components and tooling that support repeatable and scalable migration processes
- Automate data extraction, transformation, and loading workflows to improve performance and efficiency
- Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to deeply understand data requirements and resolve data-related challenges
- Apply best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and deployment to maintain a robust engineering ecosystem
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to evolving engineering standards as we scale
- Support ongoing process improvement by helping build foundational data engineering capabilities
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in data engineering , ETL development , or data migration within a SaaS environment
- Proficiency in Python for data transformation and automation scripting
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Ability to work with multiple data formats (e.g., CSV, structured/unstructured sources)
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to data accuracy and quality
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control and code reviews
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS technologies and spatial data formats such as shapefiles
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and automating complex workflows
- Understanding of distributed systems or large-scale data processing architectures
