Published on JULY 28, 2026 Applications open until AUGUST 16, 2026 Also for PwD Workplace: Rio de Janeiro - RJ Rio de Janeiro - RJ Job type: Full-time employee Full-time employee Work model: Hybrid Hybrid Also for PwD Responsible for ensuring that the Class & Marine Compliance coordination scope of work, specifically with regards to the Marine Operations and integrity, is executed with technical excellence, focusing on Fleet operations procedures in compliance with statutory Class regulation, certification maintenance, marine operations/procedures and company policy, by supporting audits, inspection, process performance and condition monitoring, development and improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance philosophy plans in order to ensure all aspects covering a maximized assets reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and integrity (RAMSI), as well as contributing to results achievement, established for the business. Responsibilities and assignments Atender a LSA/Salvatagem; We are looking for a professional to filling the position of Naval Operations Specialist at our office located in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro : Responsibilities include: Operations on oil tankers (FSO/FPSO) – Previous experience as a Captain and/or First Officer on oil tankers is a plus: Ensure safe operations in compliance with ISGOTT, MARPOL, SOLAS, and Class requirements, with a focus on asset integrity. Advise on COW, inerting, purging/venting, tank entry, offloading (STS/shore), internal transfer, and ballasting. Assess environmental conditions and apply ASOG for relief and supply vessels. Plan sequences to ensure stability and trim/heel, and operate BWTS while logging parameters. Lead JSAs, PTWs, MOCs, SIMOPS, and drills; maintain operations at ALARP levels and monitor KPIs. Support record-keeping, Class requirements, vetting (OCIMF/SIRE), audits, and crew training. Coordinate bridge–engine room–deck operations, interface with terminals/authorities, and support bunkering. Serve as a technical resource to prevent non-compliance with standards and specifications. Conduct occasional embarkations. Experience in operations with FPSOs and drilling is a plus. However, such experience must align with the topic “Operations on oil tankers...”. Compliance and Governance Ensure compliance with Class, legislation, and MODEC guidelines; Develop and validate maintenance and inspection plans, KPIs, and actions; Manage interfaces with the Offshore, Operations, HSSE, and Regulatory Compliance teams. Conduct RCA/RCFA analyses and issue recommendations to Class/Statutory Authorities and Marine Operations. Comply with LSA/Rescue requirements; Support evacuation/abandonment operations (helicopter, MSU, basket). Support firefighting systems and their integrations. Reliability and Lifecycle Implement maintenance policies and apply lessons learned; Optimize costs and performance through RBI, RCM, CBM, TBM, RTF, new technologies, and system improvements. Technical Authority: Knowledge of safety barriers and the Bow-Tie analysis. Inspections and Documentation Refine plans, monitor implementation and repairs, prioritizing inspections and preventive maintenance; Validate documentation and coordinate actions with internal teams and subcontractors. Suppliers: audit, qualify, and maintain the database of Navy suppliers and equipment. CMMS: validate hierarchies, work descriptions, and maintenance plans, ensuring regulatory compliance and traceability. New Projects, Pre-Operations, and Decommissioning Technical reviews, cost estimates, and oversight of conversions, installations, and commissioning. Expertise in platform relocation and decommissioning. Change management and technical support: supporting MOCs, TQs, NOIs, safety studies, and recommendations for operations. Workshops and shipments: Participate in risk analyses and safety reviews. Requirements and qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Sciences is mandatory. A Master Mariner’s Certificate/STCW Management Level CCL/CCB/Master Mariner’s Certificate is mandatory. A postgraduate degree in Marine Management and Regulatory Compliance is desirable. A postgraduate degree in Ocean or Naval Engineering is a plus. Solid knowledge of ISGOTT, MARPOL, SOLAS, Class, ASOG, BWTS, OCIMF/SIRE, JSA, PTW, MOC, SIMOPS, Risk Analysis, and ALARP principles. Proven experience in offloading operations (FSO/FPSO), ballast management, and critical processes (COW, inerting, entry into confined spaces). Experience with reliability methodologies: RBI, RCM, CBM, TBM, RTF; use of CMMS. Technical leadership skills, risk analysis, conducting RCA/RCFA, and managing audits/vetting. Professional interaction with shipping terminals, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams; training and mentoring skills. Previous experience as Captain or First Officer on oil tankers, holding an STCW certificate with managerial-level competency, is a strong advantage. Advanced proficiency in Portuguese and English; Availability for occasional shipboard assignments.
