Purpose of the Role
The Operational Safety Engineer is the Focal point for onshore and offshore safety matters. The job holder is responsible to liaise with main internal players (Operations Manager, OIM) to have a smooth HSE MS implementation and liaise with third-party and contractors. The engineer is responsible to work aligned with HSE Team to continual improvement of HSE MS implementation and compliance with all regulatory agencies’ requirements.
Job Function
• Ensure compliance at field level with all ANP, IBAMA, NAVY and Governmental Labour Agency requirements.
• SGSO, SGIP, SGSS, IOGP 510, NR (Labour Brazilian Standards) implementation, support and follow-up at field level.
• Follow up risk evaluations and analysis.
• Be aware of standards and technical requirements associated with the field including specific plant requirements and risk analysis.
• Ensure assets in operation follow technical Authorities and company´s requirements.
• Comment and give advice to preventive maintenance and inspection routines preparation and updates in SAP for relevant systems, with focus on Authorities regulations and Company´s governing requirements compliance.
• Internal and external HSE KPI consolidation and reports
• Perform Internal HSE Inspections/Audits and attend External Audits
• Train employees and contractors on all HSE related subjects
• Lead investigation teams in all incidents and accidents
• Keep all HSE related documentation and records updated
• HSE Action Plan follow-up
• Assist on the implementation of HSE Management System and Procedures
• Provide timely responses to regulatory agencies when required
• Deliver periodic reports to internal clients on the compliance level of offshore installations
• Follow-up changes in regulations and assess their impact in the activities
• Monitor safety and work practice performance of contractors
• Assist on the development and implementation of mandatory programs such as: PPRA, PCA, PPR, and other NR requirements.
Qualification & Experience
• Educational: Bachelor in engineering
• Post graduation in safety engineering (Mandatory);
• Proven experience, preferable in O&G Offshore roles.
• Qualification (technical): Internal Auditor; Incident Analyst; Risk Analysis; NR 37; as a Plus
• Languages: Portuguese and English Advanced.
