What You Can Expect

As a senior member of the Brazil Commercial Operations team, this position is responsible for leading all aspects of the Commercial Operations function and its associated team in the country. The role holds full accountability for Demand Planning, Distribution, Customer Service, Inventory Management, and Operational Excellence in Brazil. Working in close partnership with the local Commercial leadership, this position is accountable for achieving functional goals related to customer service levels, forecast accuracy, inventory and asset performance, and for meeting cash flow objectives within the commercial P&L and related cost centers. In support of the Brazil Commercial Head and local business leaders, this role will also drive the use of Integrated Business Planning processes and tools to improve operational performance and cost efficiency, while aligning with the company’s global strategic priorities and transformation initiatives.

How You'll Create Impact

  1. Leadership of the regional Supply Chain, Customer Service, Warehousing, Loaner Management and Distribution teams, ensuring SLAs and targets are met, KPIs are in place and all processes and centres are running at optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
  2. Work closely with the Executive leadership to develop, propose and execute Customer Centric Supply Chain strategies that support the business and aim to provide competitive advantage in all areas of the Commercial Operations function.
  3. Lead and grow Talent, including hiring, advancing, and retaining Talent within own region and in collaboration with the other Functions and HR. Own the regional Talent pool.
  4. Own the execution of all Transformation related programs and projects in said area of responsibility as they relate to processes, people, footprint and technology.
  5. Assure the delivery of correct Demand Plans that will enable the market to meet sales and service objectives. Own and execute all elements of the IBP process for the region.
  6. Maintain high standards of Health & Safety across the region in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy. Ensure departmental procedures support corporate quality & compliance requirements. Perform all activities in compliance with relevant Quality System standards.
  7. Support and drive Product Life Cycle management & product rationalization execution to ensure smooth & well communicated market launch and exit of pre-defined product lines.

What Makes You Stand Out

  1. Life Science and/or Medical Devices industry experience
  2. Demonstrated & detailed level of knowledge and understanding of complex global Supply Chains.
  3. Ability to operate independently and use judgment for high impact decisions.
  4. Ability to simplify a complex supply chain, while considering global & regional tax implications.
  5. Demonstrated experience successfully leading and engaging teams across multiple locations within region.
  6. Demonstrates effective written and oral communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with senior management.
  7. Strong analytical skills, along with strong experience with analytics toolsets (Excel, Tableau).
  8. Demonstrated Commercial Operations Strategy skills, with an ability to define and implement strategic initiatives.
  9. Understanding of strategic cost issues and uses range of techniques for cost reduction to meet targets.
  10. Strong Financial acumen, with a solid understanding of Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash-Flows).
  11. Ability to engage in contract negotiations and develop contracts on a national or regional basis; create basic project plans and manage source plan and implementation across functions and sites.
  12. Comprehensive knowledge in job related functional area.
  13. Conflict resolution, people development, delegation, and cultural sensitivity.
  14. Strong background in process and change management.

Your Background

  1. Excellent command of English and Portuguese.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
  3. Over 10 years of relevant experience in similar operations roles, including proven leadership in operations management.
  4. Preferably experienced in MedTech, ideally in orthopedics; however, backgrounds in other medical device areas (e.g., neuro) are also valued.
  5. Strong financial acumen, with hands-on experience managing P&L, balance sheets, cash flow, and cost centers.
  6. Proficiency with advanced supply chain systems and technologies (e.g., SAP, APO, or similar platforms).
  7. Willingness to travel up to 40% to Rio de Janeiro, if not based locally.
