JOB OVERVIEW Plan A Technologies is looking for an outstanding SQL Database Developer . The ideal candidate will manage our databases to ensure high performance, availability, and security, collaborating effectively with various teams to support our organizational goals. Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as a Senior Database Design and Development Administrator with strong proficiency in T-SQL, and a good understanding of DevOps and Scrum methodologies to be considered for this role. JOB RESPONSIBILITY Database Design and Development: Designs and develops database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and other database objects. Writes and optimizes T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Application Development Support: Works closely with application developers to ensure efficient interaction between the application and the database either via stored procedure or ORM queries. Assists in the design and development of database components for applications. Works with applications support teams to provide database developer assistance. Performance Tuning: Optimizes T-SQL queries and database performance. Analyzes and refines database designs to improve efficiency and scalability. Documentation: Documents database designs, configurations, and code. Maintains source control using systems like GIT for database scripts and objects. EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Strong experience with Database Design and Development with a focus on T-SQL. Experience with database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL. Knowledge of backup, recovery, and performance tuning strategies. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes. Understanding of database security practices and protocols. Hands-on experience with database management in a DevOps environment. Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Familiarity with Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
