Our Proposal: We're dedicated to crafting unified IT solutions that streamline the operations of IT organizations. Currently, we're searching for a Senior Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) to join our SRE team within the Platform Engineering division.
Your role will involve scaling our products to serve millions of users, ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of our databases. Collaboration with the SRE team, Architects, and application teams will be key to achieving this goal.
Responsibilities: Lead efforts to guarantee the reliability, accessibility, and optimal functioning of our AWS-based databases, encompassing RDS/Postgres, Elasticache, Aurora, and similar platforms. Initiate the development of advanced monitoring, observability, alerting, and reporting mechanisms to track essential database metrics effectively. Collaborate closely with application teams to ensure strict compliance with industry standards, deployment procedures, and performance benchmarks for database alterations. Proactively monitor and refine database performance, offering crucial support to our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in capacity planning endeavors. Stay attuned to the dynamic landscape of databases and AWS, keeping updated on the latest innovations and best practices. Facilitate seamless coordination with our AWS account team and relevant AWS service units, intervening as needed to ensure operational smoothness.
Must-have Requirements: 5+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in administering, fine-tuning, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases within the dynamic AWS environment. Proficiency across AWS services. Experience with database design, SQL, and transactional processing. Keen understanding of security protocols, particularly within AWS environments. Familiarity with cutting-edge infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation and/or CDK.
Nice-to-have requirements: Experience with large-scale distributed systems. Experience in managing substantial databases, demonstrating your capability to handle vast volumes of critical data with finesse. Exposure to a range of relational or NoSQL databases. Knowledge of cutting-edge data engineering tools. Understanding of ETL processes and associated tooling within the PostgreSQL environment. Python knowledge or experience.
